See what the Magnetite Mines team has been up to in the second quarter of 2024.

Magnetite Mines was in Port Augusta for the Tactic Conference and Trade Expo.  It was a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with local providers on core services and supplies we will need for our multi-generational mining project. The week was capped off with a presentation from Magnetite Mines CEO Tim Dobson about the current state of the Green Iron industry that is developing in South Australia and how our Razorback Iron Ore Project is set to play a major role.

At the Port Augusta Tactic Conference and Trade Expo, Minister for Energy and Mining, Hon Tom Koutsantonis MP emphasised the South Australian Government’s commitment to creating a Green Iron industry to transform the state with “Magnetite Mines leading the way in the Braemar.”

A breakthrough in MGT’s laboratory testing has demonstrated the potential to use saline water to produce 'Green Iron' feed grade magnetite concentrates from an Iron Peak deposit ore sample, potentially materially reducing project costs. The concentrates achieved grades of 69.9% Fe and less than 2.0% silica + alumina, exceeding current requirements for Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) production.
